Doge’s Palace tickets: standard admission, Museum Pass or Secret Itineraries?
For a normal first visit, choose the St. Mark’s Square Museums ticket. Book Secret Itineraries only if you want its guided restricted route; it already includes the regular palace visit. The Museum Pass suits a wider civic-museum trip, not a substitute for a special-tour reservation.
Which Doge’s Palace ticket do you need?
Buy the St. Mark’s Square Museums ticket for the ordinary Doge’s Palace route and the linked Correr, Archaeological Museum and Marciana rooms. Choose the Museum Pass if you also want several other civic museums. Choose Secret Itineraries for the restricted prison and administration rooms with a guide; choose Hidden Treasures for the Doge’s private rooms and chapel route. These are different products, even when a reseller calls all of them a palace tour. Official prices below were checked on MUVE’s visitor information on 25 October 2026. They describe published tariffs, not confirmed availability for a chosen departure. St. Mark’s Basilica is a separate attraction: none of these descriptions establishes admission to the basilica.

Standard admission: understand the early-booking price
The €30 full-price online tariff applies to purchase at least 30 days before the visit. It is not the price of every online booking. MUVE lists the ordinary full tariff as €35 and the reduced tariff as €15. Follow the booking link from the official museum page to its Vivaticket product, then select your actual date and eligible category. The ticket is for the St. Mark’s Square museum group, not only the palace. It includes the MUVE app audioguide, but that does not make it a live guided tour. If the palace is your main aim, do not buy a wider pass merely because its name sounds more comprehensive. MUVE’s current announcement says St. Mark’s Square Museums tickets without a specific entry time are admitted to the palace from noon onwards. Do not build a 09:00 palace plan around an untimed ticket. A timed admission also does not remove security checks.
MUVE: 30-day online tariff and noon admission for untimed ticketsMuseum Pass: useful for more museums, not special-tour access
The Museum Pass is valid for six months and allows one admission to each included museum. MUVE says no reservation is required for those museum admissions. It covers the palace and St. Mark’s museum group along with venues such as Ca’ Rezzonico, Ca’ Pesaro, the Glass Museum on Murano and the Lace Museum on Burano. The Clock Tower is excluded. Compare the individual admission costs of the additional museums you will actually visit before paying for the pass. Their opening days and travel between them still determine whether the plan works. The pass does not itself book Secret Itineraries or Hidden Treasures. Pass holders appear among the reduced-price categories for those separately reserved tours.
MUVE: Museum Pass validity, venues and special-tour reductionsSecret Itineraries: book the restricted route, not a second standard ticket
Secret Itineraries visits the Pozzi cells, government offices, interrogation spaces and Piombi prison area, including reconstructed cells associated with Casanova. The official tour lasts about 75 minutes and is led by a specialist guide. Its €40 full-price or €20 reduced ticket also includes the unguided palace and St. Mark’s museum-group visit, so a separate standard ticket is normally unnecessary for the same included visit. Reserve the correct language and departure. MUVE lists English departures at 10:00, 11:30 and 13:00, with the 13:00 tour moved to 09:30 from 15 June to 31 August. Use the booking calendar for the date you need; those listed hours do not prove seats remain. Arrive at the scheduled departure, not near the end of the grace period: MUVE says a delay of more than 15 minutes excludes you from the guided tour. Children under six are not allowed. The route uses steep, narrow stairs and small spaces and is not accessible to visitors with mobility problems. MUVE also says it is unsuitable in pregnancy and not recommended for people with claustrophobia, vertigo or cardio-respiratory disorders. These are venue restrictions, not personal medical clearance.
MUVE: Secret Itineraries route, duration, languages and restrictionsHidden Treasures: a different guided route
Hidden Treasures follows the Doge’s private side of the building, including the treasure room, terraces, Chiesetta and Antichiesetta. It is not another name for Secret Itineraries. Its official duration is also about 75 minutes, and its ticket includes the regular unguided palace and St. Mark’s museum-group access. The route has steep stairs and restricted spaces. Children under six are not allowed, and MUVE publishes mobility and health-related limitations similar to those for Secret Itineraries. Choose by the rooms you want to see and the access you need rather than by the word exclusive in a listing.
MUVE: Hidden Treasures route and access conditionsReduced tickets and free admission are product-specific
For ordinary St. Mark’s Square Museums admission, MUVE lists reduced categories including children aged 6–14, students aged 15–25 and visitors over 65. Children aged 0–5 and disabled visitors with a helper are among the free-admission categories. Use the official eligibility list and take documentation for the category you select. Do not transfer those rules blindly to a special tour. Under-sixes may qualify for free ordinary admission but are excluded from both special itineraries. The special tours have their own reduced categories, including Museum Pass holders. If you qualify for the family offer, select it through the official process rather than calculating a household price from unrelated concessions.
MUVE: ordinary, family and special-tour eligibility listsEntrance, opening hours, bags and accessible routes
The public entrance is Porta del Frumento on Piazzetta San Marco. The published summer hours, 1 April–31 October, are 09:00–19:00 with last admission at 18:00. The winter hours, 1 November–31 March, are 09:00–18:00 with last admission at 17:00. Closing procedures start 30 minutes before closing; a last-entry ticket is not a promise of a long visit. Leave suitcases, trolleys and bulky luggage elsewhere before arrival. MUVE excludes luggage whose three dimensions total more than one metre, including handles, wheels and external pockets. The free cloakroom takes smaller items that security will not allow in the galleries; it is not a solution for arriving with a suitcase. MUVE describes the regular visit as accessible and provides a lift, but specifically excludes the Secret Itineraries, prisons and armoury from accessible areas. If those rooms are the reason you want to go, the general accessibility statement is not enough. Use the museum’s accessibility information to plan the actual route.
MUVE: luggage rules and the accessible-route exceptionsOfficial booking versus a reseller tour
Start at the museum’s own visitor-information page and follow its ticket links to MUVE’s Vivaticket products. For a reseller, compare the exact museum ticket, restricted rooms, guide language, meeting point, cancellation terms and total charge. A guided standard palace visit does not automatically include Secret Itineraries, and an audioguide is not a live guide. Allow a half-day block for the regular palace visit and nearby San Marco time as an editorial planning choice, not an official visit duration. A special tour needs its fixed departure plus time for the regular rooms afterwards. If you are also booking St. Mark’s Basilica, leave a proper gap rather than treating the two as a single admission queue.
